Oops. I should have specified that I was in San Diego (Del Mar, Coronado). However, in L.A. I used to think taht Travel Town in Griffith Park was pretty neat – fourteen old fashioned locomotives for kids of all ages to climb on and explore. Mini train rides around the park. Pretty neat for children.
In San Diego, I recommend taking a couple of hours to explore the Hotel Del Coronado (I live nearby) although you really can’t go wrong just absorbing La Jolla. In La Jolla, GET TO MOUNT SOLEDAD and enjoy the view and a pleasant reminder of our Saviour. 🙂
Very cool – thanks for the suggestions. We did visit Coronado, including the hotel, and we actually spent 4-5 days in La Jolla. Beautiful.
We didn’t see Mount Soledad, though – too bad. Will have to come back!
