How to pour ketchup

I learned something new today – how to pour ketchup. I guess you can always learn something new!

Here’s the problem; everyone knows it: the ketchup stays in the bottle. Until you dig in after it with a knife, or, worse, it all comes gushing out at once.

But here’s how to fix it:

Tap the ketchup bottle gently on the “57” label, assuming it’s Heinz. Not the one on the fat part of the bottle, but the one on the neck of the bottle, right near the cap.

According to one of my developers, Alan Bailward, doing so “affects the physics of the ketchup,” and allows free flow of the previously jammed tomatoey substance. I tried it today and it works like a charm.

Cool!
