Amazon and Google are still queens of the smart speaker world, with 53.2% of global market share last quarter. But that’s down significantly from 2018, where the big American tech firms owned 65.5% of global share in Q4.
And, Chinese competitors are catching up.
Global sales of smart speaker jumped to 146.9 million units last year, according to research firm Strategy Analytics. That’s a 70% increase from 2018. Q4 sales hit a quarterly record of 55.7 million.
