LG’s ‘Zero Labor Home’ Might Be Amazing … If You Don’t Have Stairs

Just posted to my Forbes column about LG’s bold (and very ambitious) vision for a truly “zero labor home.”

In the piece, I dig into LG Electronics latest home robot concept, CLOiD, which the company unveiled at CES in Las Vegas. The idea is simple and incredibly appealing: a future where laundry folds itself, meals get prepped, dishes are handled and housework fades into the background. CLOiD is designed to fetch items, cook, clean, do laundry and even act as a smart-home hub—essentially becoming the conductor for LG’s entire appliance ecosystem.

As LG put it, the goal is to “make housework a thing of the past so customers can spend more time on the things that really matter.” It’s a compelling vision, even if the current wheeled design raises some practical questions (like stairs… and that name).
