Bee on hydrangea

The hydrangea in my front garden has been beautifully blooming for months.

And fruitfully – bees have been coming by in droves to stock up for the winter.

Here’s one I caught sipping nectar:

It’s amazing how incredibly huge bees’ compound eyes are in proportion to their heads!
