Most competitors want their rivals to fail, because that’s better for them. A major player in high-end AR/VR/mixed reality headsets, however, is afraid of the opposite: that the Apple Vision Pro will fail.
From my story at Forbes:
Most people might think a virtual reality startup’s biggest fear would be a massive multitrillion-dollar global company entering its space and completely dominating it. For a small Finnish company facing not only Apple’s entrance into VR, augmented reality and mixed reality but also Meta’s renewed push with the just-announced Meta Quest 3, however, it’s exactly the opposite.
They’re afraid Apple will fail.
The reason: a massive negative impact on the overall market.
