Leaked files from Apple’s upcoming mobile operating system show that augmented reality is increasingly central in Apple’s plans for mobile commerce, directions, payments, brand integrations, and more.
The biggest integrations so far: Starbucks coffee and Star Wars movies.
The files are from iOS 14, scheduled to be released later this year.
They provide new information about Gobi, Apple’s (probably code-named) augmented reality camera app that will turn your camera into a means of discovering and activating augmented reality artifacts in your environment, not just a means of capturing that gorgeous sunset.
