Hey, you’ve gotta check out this Forbes article I just read! It’s all about humanoid robots, and it gives the lowdown from a guy named Andrew Kang, who runs a Nasdaq fund that only invests in robot companies before they go public. So, basically, he’s the expert on who’s actually going to make it big. He says there are over a hundred humanoid robot companies in the US, but when you ask him which ones are truly going to deliver, his list is super short: Tesla Optimus, Figure AI, and Apptronik. Crazy, right?
He explained that finding the truly expert roboticists is incredibly hard – there are only a few hundred worldwide – and you also need billions in capital. That’s why so few companies stand out. Right now, Figure AI is actually ahead of Tesla on the AI side, with their Figure 03 robots publicly sorting a quarter-million packages over 200 hours. Pretty impressive! But Kang also thinks that once Elon Musk really focuses his legendary attention on Optimus, he could easily match five other CEOs combined. So, the race is definitely on!
And get this, Kang is predicting that the humanoid robot market is going to be worth tens of trillions of dollars. He expects millions of these units to be out there by 2028-2029, and thinks we’ll commonly see humanoids in our homes by as early as 2030. It really makes you think about how quickly our world could change with these advanced robots becoming a reality!
